Alan NormanMARTINNorman passed away at home on Wednesday 22nd January 2025 aged 104 years. Norman was a man of action, whether on a mine sweeper in the 1940s, the beaches of Australia as a young man or on his mobility scooter in Glenfield and afar until late 2024. Norman lived a full and independent life right to the end. He loved to dance and party well into his 90s and had all the moves. He especially loved spending time in his garden with his tomatoes, rhubarb, sweet peas and damsons which he actively shared with his community. He was a loving husband to the late Alice with whom he travelled the world on many adventures. A devoted father to Jayne, Keith and Peter and was a cherished grandfather to Hannah, Isabella, Dilara, Rae, Maya, Edgar and Thomas. He lived a great life and will be a treasured memory for many people. A memorial service to celebrate Norman's extraordinary life will be held at 1pm on the 19th February 2025 at Glenfield Methodist church, 7 Station Road, Glenfield Leicester LE3 8BT, followed by a private committal service at Gilroes Crematorium.
